What is Here Be Dragons?
Here Be Dragons Theater Co. aims to offer year-round opportunities for students in middle school through college to hone their existing abilities, experiment with new skills, and expand their practical and theoretical knowledge of all aspects of theater by offering a wide variety of productions and workshops.
The program emphasizes collaboration among participants and encourages students to challenge themselves and explore their creativity by becoming familiar with every detail of putting on a production.
In addition, we offer a performance space for staged readings and workshops to new playwrights and an audition and rehearsal space for the North Shore theater community at large.
Our Philosophy
We believe theater is at heart about community, and collaboration. Every person who is involved in a show has a part in shaping it. We want to create a space where everyone has a voice, where everyone feels comfortable offering their ideas and suggestions. That immersion in the details of the production deepens everyone's understanding of and interpretation of the work they're performing, and brings the world of that work to life.

The mission of Here Be Dragons Theater Co. is to provide an education in all aspects of live theater to students ages 11 to 19. We aim to provide a safe, welcoming space where new ideas are valued, new challenges are met, and new communities are created.
